This is the wiki of the IGF Dynamic Coalition Schools on Internet Governance. The mission of the DC is to bring together the different schools to better understand how best to offers instruction. While each school develops its own model and curriculum, each school, especially new efforts, can learn from the other schools. The purpose of the wiki is for schools to share their materials, and for schools to learn from the work that has been done by other schools.

== Current work in progress ==
In 2019 the DC worked on its first task a [[Taxonomy of Schools on Internet Governance|taxonomy for describing Schools on Internet Governance (SIG)]]. This document is trying to capture the variety that exists among the existing programs and the features of the various types of schools. This work continues in 2020, with an attempt to fill in gaps that still exist in the document plus reviewing its structure to see what can be improved. The DC is also starting to work on an [[Operations Guide|Operations Guide for SIGs]]

Both [[Taxonomy of Schools on Internet Governance]] and the [[Operations Guide]] are open for comment.

The DC holds [[Periodic Meetings]] throughout the year.

|SWING – School on Internet Governance 2026 will take place in Bruges, Belgium, from 20 to 24 April 2026. Hosted by the United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS), SWING is designed for graduate students, early-career researchers, ICT professionals, policymakers, and anyone interested in the field. The program aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of the actors, processes, and policy challenges, shaping the governance of the internet and digital technologies. Through a combination of expert-led lectures and interactive group work, participants collaboratively analyse key governance issues and develop policy recommendations to be presented during the program’s final sessions. The 2026 edition will focus on Digital Sovereignty — a timely and fast-evolving concept at the crossroads of Internet governance, geopolitics, economics, innovation, and fundamental rights.

This is the wiki of the IGF Dynamic Coalition Schools on Internet Governance. The mission of the DC is to bring together the different schools to better understand how best to offers instruction. While each school develops its own model and curriculum, each school, especially new efforts, can learn from the other schools. == Current work in progress ==
In 2019 the DC worked on its first task a [[Taxonomy of Schools on Internet Governance|taxonomy for describing Schools on Internet Governance (SIG)]]. This document is trying to capture the variety that exists among the existing programs and the features of the various types of schools. This work continues in 2020, with an attempt to fill in gaps that still exist in the document plus reviewing its structure to see what can be improved. The DC is also starting to work on an [[Operations Guide|Operations Guide for SIGs]]

Both [[Taxonomy of Schools on Internet Governance]] and the [[Operations Guide]] are open for comment.

The DC holds [[Periodic Meetings]] throughout the year.

|SWING – School on Internet Governance 2026 will take place in Bruges, Belgium, from 20 to 24 April 2026. Hosted by the United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS), SWING is designed for graduate students, early-career researchers, ICT professionals, policymakers, and anyone interested in the field. The program aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of the actors, processes, and policy challenges, shaping the governance of the internet and digital technologies. Through a combination of expert-led lectures and interactive group work, participants collaboratively analyse key governance issues and develop policy recommendations to be presented during the program’s final sessions. The 2026 edition will focus on Digital Sovereignty — a timely and fast-evolving concept at the crossroads of Internet governance, geopolitics, economics, innovation, and fundamental rights.

|SWING – School on Internet Governance 2026 will take place in Bruges, Belgium, from 20 to 24 April 2026. Hosted by the United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS), SWING is designed for graduate students, early-career researchers, ICT professionals, policymakers, and anyone interested in the field. The program aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of the actors, processes, and policy challenges, shaping the governance of the internet and digital technologies. Through a combination of expert-led lectures and interactive group work, participants collaboratively analyse key governance issues and develop policy recommendations to be presented during the program’s final sessions. The 2026 edition will focus on Digital Sovereignty — a timely and fast-evolving concept at the crossroads of Internet governance, geopolitics, economics, innovation, and fundamental rights.

== Current work in progress ==
In 2019 the DC worked on its first task a [[Taxonomy of Schools on Internet Governance|taxonomy for describing Schools on Internet Governance (SIG)]]. This document is trying to capture the variety that exists among the existing programs and the features of the various types of schools. This work continues in 2020, with an attempt to fill in gaps that still exist in the document plus reviewing its structure to see what can be improved. The DC is also starting to work on an [[Operations Guide|Operations Guide for SIGs]]

== Current work in progress ==
In 2019 the DC worked on its first task a [[Taxonomy of Schools on Internet Governance|taxonomy for describing Schools on Internet Governance (SIG)]]. This document is trying to capture the variety that exists among the existing programs and the features of the various types of schools. This work continues in 2020, with an attempt to fill in gaps that still exist in the document plus reviewing its structure to see what can be improved. The DC is also starting to work on an [[Operations Guide|Operations Guide for SIGs]]

Both [[Taxonomy of Schools on Internet Governance]] and the [[Operations Guide]] are open for comment.

The DC holds [[Periodic Meetings]] throughout the year.

|Internet Society Liberia Chapter has since worked with other Internet and ICT stakeholders in Liberia to organize the Liberia Internet Governance School and Forum (LSIG/LIGF) that brings together local actors in ICT policy discussions. == Current work in progress ==
In 2019 the DC worked on its first task a [[Taxonomy of Schools on Internet Governance|taxonomy for describing Schools on Internet Governance (SIG)]]. This document is trying to capture the variety that exists among the existing programs and the features of the various types of schools. This work continues in 2020, with an attempt to fill in gaps that still exist in the document plus reviewing its structure to see what can be improved. The DC is also starting to work on an [[Operations Guide|Operations Guide for SIGs]]

Both [[Taxonomy of Schools on Internet Governance]] and the [[Operations Guide]] are open for comment.

|The model used by the school is that it moves around the countries of USA, Canada and Puerto Rico every year. One or more persons are identified at some point to run the school where they live. These are invited to shadow each school to learn what needs to be done to assemble one of this schools and in some cases to participate as a student or faculty depending on their background.

Previous school directors are used as consultants for the new schools.

Sponsorship/Grant Requests are an important task that requires a significant amount of time to raise the necessary funds to operate successfully. Many of the sponsors have rigid requirements and payment processes to obtain the funds.

*Speaking opportunities at the event
